I had a great time with my small group of walkers last week.
The weather was perfect for walking and the wild flowers did us proud.
There are a few pictures below. Lovely peonies and bee orchids in El Torcal.
The guests enjoyed the food. The chocolate brandy cake was a great hit and so easy to make. I have posted the receipe below.
We saw this beautiful vivid scarlet flower near to Alfarnate. I think it is a Phesants Eye.
Phesants Eye
This is a really yummy, easy to make cake that was well appreciated on the recent walking week:
4oz of chocolate
4oz butter
4 oz digestive biscuits
1 tablespoon golden syrup
A few chopped nuts. Walnuts are best.
2oz of dried fruit
a few glacier cherries.
Good slug of brandy.
Melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup together.
Break the digestive biscuits into the mixture.
Mix all other ingredients into the chocolate and biscuit mixture.
Pour into tin and leave to set.
